Degree Programmes at the Faculty of Science and Technology

The Faculty of Science and Technology offers bachelor’s degrees in Software Engineering, Biology and Natural Science – focusing on either Earth or Ocean science. The programmes are of international standard and enable students to access graduate studies abroad and in the Faroes.

The Joint Nordic Master's Programme in Marine Ecosystems and Climate is a two-year degree (120 ECTS) offered jointly by the universities of Bergen, Iceland, Aarhus and the Faroe Islands. This is an international post-graduate degree for students, who have an undergraduate degree in biology or physical oceanography, and are interested in cross-disciplinary marine challenges.
This Joint Nordic Master's Programme in Marine Ecosystems and Climate is very well suited as a continuation after a BSc in Earth and Ocean Science or in Biology from the Faculty of Science and Technology. For further information:

Software Engineering

An upper secondary diploma with B-level or A-level Mathematics with a minimum average of 6 on the Marking Scale of 00 to 13 is required. This corresponds to 4 on B level or at least 02 on the Marking Scale of -3 to 12

The average is calculated based on both exam results and annual marks for oral and written performance. 

The faculty may decide to apply equivalent criteria based on case-by-case assessments.

 

Biology

An upper secondary diploma with the following subjects and minimum averages is required:

Physics B-level, with a minimum average of 6 on the Marking Scale of 00 to 13 is required.

Mathematics
B-level, with a minimum average of 6 on the Marking Scale of 00 to 13 is required.

Chemistry
B-level, with a minimum average of 6 on the Marking Scale of 00 to 13 is required.

The faculty may decide to apply other equivalent requirements based on case-by-case assessments.
